Team (Project) Introduction:
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.
9th Way Insignia is looking for a Senior Configuration Manager to join this team.

An Engineer 3 oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. An Engineer 3 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. An Engineer 3 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.
Functional Job (LCAT) Information:
A Senior Configuration Manager must have experience and be able to develop, document, and implement detailed plans for ensuring configuration control for IT programs, projects, and tasks. When issues arise, must be able to identify and implement solutions. Maintain thorough records and documentation to ensure accurate product builds, part ordering and product and/or software updates.
Responsibilities:
- Describe configuration management plans and activities, providing a matrix of responsibility.
- Update and maintain the data model for a large data warehouse, facilitating data sharing among various departments and integrating data assets.
- Perform data staging using approved Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools and Oracle data repositories.
- Create and deliver conceptual and Logical Data Models with a metadata dictionary.
- Identify data warehouse security risks and propose policy or design changes to mitigate or eliminate these risks, with approval from COR or Technical PM.
- Document routine and scheduled maintenance procedures as part of system documentation, ensuring clarity and conciseness.
- Maintain a historical log of the SQL code in the Configuration Management (CM) system, ensuring backup SQL code is up to date.
- Generate current work package/activity data in JIRA or equivalent software.
- Ensure all releases and changes are recorded in the CM system.
- Develop, deliver, and execute a comprehensive Change Management Plan detailing methods, processes, tools, and techniques to manage changes effectively.
- Integrate change management methods with other processes, ensuring seamless operations.
- Manage and collaborate on change management activities such as generating Change Requests (CRs), tracking CRs status, evaluating CRs, and authorizing CRs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a Senior CM of a large enterprise environment with a high tempo.
- 10 years of CM experience to include usage of CMDBs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing requirements.
- Prior experience in a federal data warehouse and understanding of government procedures and regulations is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $118,737 – $128,000.
