JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development at the Baskin School of Engineering, the Senior Director of Corporate Engagement is responsible for leading corporate revenue initiatives and establishing holistic, strategic partnerships with organizations to support the engineering school at UC Santa Cruz.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Corporate Revenue Development:
- Builds and maintains a portfolio of 20-30 companies to contribute major investment in Baskin Engineering research initiatives and programs.
- Creates and executes effective strategies designed to maximize corporate support of division's research, programmatic and philanthropic priorities at the major gift level ($50,000) and higher.
- Collaborates with the division's senior leadership and faculty researchers to understand their research projects, goals, and funding needs.
20% - Corporate Strategy:
- Serves as primary liaison with strategically aligned industry partners to develop and leverage relationships that result in raising revenue for philanthropic and research support.
- Develops and drives strategies and execution of the corporate engagement campaign.
10% - Administration and Management:
- Manages corporate development staff, ensuring employees are up-to-date in skills and best practices.
- Prepares an annual development plan that responds to division's priorities and market demands.
10% - Supervision:
- Supervises staff within the BE Development Office.
- Provides guidance, training and professional development to the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California.
