JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development at the Baskin School of Engineering, the Senior Director of Corporate Engagement is responsible for leading corporate revenue initiatives and establishing holistic, strategic partnerships with organizations to support the engineering school at UC Santa Cruz. The role will be integral in building investment in the school and the university among Silicon Valley and other national and international corporations.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $143,050 - $170,100/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
60% - Corporate Revenue Development
- Builds and maintains a portfolio of 20-30 companies to contribute major investment in Baskin Engineering research initiatives and programs.
- Creates and executes effective strategies designed to maximize corporate support of division's research, programmatic and philanthropic priorities at the major gift level ($50,000) and higher.
- Collaborates with the division's senior leadership and faculty researchers to understand their research projects, goals, and funding needs.
- Demonstrates accountability for unit's performance by directing stewardship activities, providing regular updates and reports to corporate partners on the progress and outcomes of the sponsored research projects.
- Prepares compelling proposals, case statements, impact/stewardship reports and presentations to secure corporate funding.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Demonstrated and extensive success in corporate fundraising, business development, and/or corporate partnership management.
- Expert verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and political acumen.
- Expert written communication skills to develop high level strategic planning documents, reports, and presentations.
- Expert analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Expert project / program management skills.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
