Summary
The Student Worker in the Office of the President will provide essential clerical and administrative support, assisting in the efficient operation of the President's Office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a student to gain valuable experience in a professional, high-profile environment within the university.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and ensure they are directed to the appropriate person or meeting.
- Perform general office duties such as photocopying and scanning.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as necessary.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and processing correspondence.
- Maintain and organize office files, records, and documents, both physical and digital.
- Maintain office supplies inventory, placing orders as needed and ensuring supplies are well-stocked.
- Assist with data entry and updating databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support the coordination of special projects and events as directed by the President's Office staff.
- Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized office environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student at Saint Xavier University.
- Federal Work Study required.
- Previous clerical or administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Work Schedule: Flexible hours within the Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm schedule. Ideally 8 to 10 hours per week, with consideration for class schedules and academic and extracurricular commitments.
