Westchester Jewish Community Services - Medical Director
We are seeking a compassionate and visionary Medical Director to lead and inspire our team at four Article 31 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics and fourteen satellite programs in Westchester County. This full-time position offers an opportunity to join the Executive and Clinical Leadership Teams at WJCS, working under the guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer. The role includes both in-person and virtual work.
This position involves collaboration with the Executive and Clinical Leadership Teams, focusing on delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health and addiction treatment. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative leadership style and a deep empathy for underrepresented communities facing mental health and substance abuse challenges. Responsibilities include supervising psychiatric staff, developing agency policies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. RESPONSIBILITY OVERVIEW:
- Lead and empower medical staff, including psychiatrists, licensed practical nurses, and nurse practitioners, to provide top-tier, evidence-based treatment as part of an integrated team.
- Develop and advise on agency policies as part of the Executive and Clinical Leadership Teams.
- Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring safe psychiatric coverage after hours across all clinical locations.
- Engage in Quality Assurance and Safety Committees to enhance service delivery.
- Provide direct psychiatric and addiction treatment, offering consultation on complex cases.
- Educate staff on mental health, addiction, and psychopharmacology through the WJCS Education Institute.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Team and psychiatric staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, including Medicare and Medicaid.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold active New York State Medical and DEA Licenses by start date.
- Board Certified in Psychiatry; additional certifications in Addiction Psychiatry required or commitment to obtain certification within 4 years.
- At least five years of post-residency experience in both clinical and administrative contexts.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
