About The JobDudek is currently seeking a full-time Senior Engineer in our Engineering Division. This position provides planning and design support as part of a project team for water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, predominantly focused on treatment-related planning and design. The ideal candidate would be a professional engineer with 5 plus years of experience in water infrastructure and treatment and civil engineering. This position will be based out of one of our California offices with work-from-home flexibility available.
Our WorkOur engineering work specific to water and wastewater treatment facilities is particularly exciting and rewarding. Our smaller and nimble team structure allows us to fill a market inefficiency because most water and wastewater treatment engineering services have been consolidated to either larger firms and/or specialized firms, leaving a hole for our team to fill in the small to mid-sized treatment plant market (up to 15 MGD capacity). Our high-quality work has led to long-lasting and rewarding relationships with agencies who appreciate our custom engineered solutions for their needs after being overlooked and/or underserved by bigger firms. We typically get involved with our clients at the planning stage and work with them through planning, design, and construction to see projects through from start to finish. We emphasize collaboration with our clients' operations and maintenance staff to provide engineering solutions that meet their needs within the available budget.
A senior engineer in this role would gain exposure to a wide variety of treatment-related engineering projects, including planning work (facility plans, process evaluation, alternatives analysis, O&M optimization, risk & reliability assessments, etc.), design work (unit process design and/or full plant design including in-house mechanical design, civil design, and coordination with subconsultants for electrical, structural, and architectural design), and engineering services during construction (submittal & RFI review, change order review, and startup support). Our work is diverse and exciting which leads to rapid career growth and persistent learning opportunities for our team members. Our senior engineers enjoy the opportunity to gain client-facing opportunities and exposure to business development and project management tasks and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Execution of projects under the supervision of a Project Manager for planning and analysis of water, wastewater and/or recycled water processes and facilities, including capacity analysis, facility plans, alternatives analysis, condition assessment, process evaluations, risk assessment, O&M optimization, and more.
- Execution of projects under the supervision of a Project Manager for design of water, wastewater and/or conveyance and treatment processes and facilities, open channel hydraulics, pump stations, reservoirs/storage facilities, treatment equipment (i.e., screens, clarifiers, blowers, dewatering equipment, filters, among others), including development of project plans, specification packages, calculations packages, and construction cost estimates.
- Capability to work in the field, including construction observation, inspections, field measurements, and monitoring equipment setup, as necessary.
- Capability to travel within California including but not limited to meeting with clients, plant site walks, attending conferences and professional organization events, and perform project-related field work, as necessary.
- Training and delegating tasks to Project Engineers in order to balance workload and efficiently get project tasks completed.
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- 5 plus years engineering experience in planning and design of mechanical and treatment related projects.
- Professional Civil and/or Mechanical Engineer licensed in the State of California.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), have excellent writing, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with design software including AutoCAD.
Proposed Salary Range:$98,000-$120,000 annually *
