Job Title: Senior Data Scientist
Location: Washington, DC
Summary
Support development of insider threat strategy in support of protecting customer’s offerings; balance short-term wins with long-term investments to progressively mature customer’s defenses against insider threats. Lead exploration of data sources that are relevant to measuring, identifying, and defending against insider threats. Provide technical leadership in developing capabilities to detect insider threats among large user communities, leveraging combination of statistical, classical machine learning, and deep learning methods.
Utilizing knowledge of data gathering methods to assist with assessing various areas of insider threats.

- Normalize data to conduct analysis and evaluations based on the correlation of information.
- Work with statistical software such as R, Python, Tableau or Power BI to assist with trend analysis and graphing for reports.
- The contractor shall take established framework for lexicon searches and refine the process for increased effectiveness and efficiency. This includes the possible retrieval of additional data fields based upon analyst requirements.
- The contractor shall create a semi-automatic process for the lexicon search framework that outputs data into a format consumable by the Insider Threat analyst.
- The contractor shall work with Insider Threat analysts to further customize established post processing tasks.
- Contribute to the coordination of policy and strategy related to insider threats with industry partners and other DoD components.
- Write documentation about customer’s strategic approach to insider threat defense and how it fits within the broader DoD insider threat ecosystem.
Minimum Required Experience
8 years’ experience in Architecture Council Experience with data science techniques, classical machine learning, and deep learning for anomaly detection. Experience with Jupyter, Spark, and either Tensorflow or PyTorch. Previous relevant technical leadership experience. Exemplary technical writing skills. Knowledge of insider threat detection, fraud detection, or anti-abuse engineering is preferred. A traditional background in cybersecurity is not required.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
