Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Master Data Management (MDM) Architecture, Transformation, and Process to lead our global MDM team. This strategic role will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, and governance of master data processes and technologies across the organization. The Director will oversee the integration and federation of data between SAP and Non-SAP applications, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency in our reporting environments. This position will report to senior leadership and play a critical role in driving our data management strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive MDM strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead a global team of MDM professionals, including architects, data stewards, and analysts.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Architecture and Technology:
- Oversee the design and implementation of master data management solutions.
- Ensure the integration and federation of data between SAP and Non-SAP applications.
- Evaluate and select MDM tools and technologies, ensuring they meet business needs and industry standards.
- Transformation and Process:
- Lead the transformation of master data processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Drive initiatives to enhance data quality and integrity across the organization.
- Global Coordination:
- Coordinate MDM activities across global regions, ensuring alignment and consistency.
- Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to identify and address data management needs.
- Facilitate global workshops and training sessions to promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a key liaison between IT and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of MDM initiatives with business goals.
- Communicate MDM strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on MDM-related issues and projects.
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee MDM projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure that project outcomes meet quality and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in master data management, data architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Extensive experience with SAP and Non-SAP applications.
- Demonstrated experience in leading global teams and managing complex projects.
- Strong background in data governance, data quality, and data management best practices.
- Skills:
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute long-term MDM strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MDM tools and technologies (e.g., SAP MDG, Informatica, Reltio, Syniti, Talend).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
