Responsibilities
The Department of Internal Medicine for the University of South Alabama is seeking a full-time board-certified/board eligible Rheumatology Physician to join our practice. Primary responsibilities are providing patient care in general rheumatology clinic, outpatient procedures, and inpatient consultation. Providers may be asked to assist with inpatient general internal medicine teaching services at our hospital as well. Applicants are required to have an MD or equivalent and must be eligible for licensure in the State of Alabama. Applicants with credentials to support the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor will be considered.
We seek applicants with an understanding of the medical, educational, clinical, and administrative issues for Internal Medicine residents and 1st-4th year medical students at a small medical school. Successful applicants will assist with the residency program needs and quality improvement programs. There are expectations for career advancement through the academic promotions process.
Additional responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other healthcare providers.
