Booking Holdings Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) Program consists of two functions - a legal component and a core program management team. Together, the Program is responsible for preventing and detecting the broad range of emerging regulatory, sanctions and trade, and financial crime risks attendant to our business.
This Financial Crime Program Director role reports to the Head of Financial Crime Risk Management and is responsible for providing and executing the strategic direction for the FinCrime program and overseeing Booking Holding’s brands’ FinCrime program improvements and evolution. The role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the FinCrime program at Booking Holdings and overseeing it across the company. You will work closely with other functions at Booking Holdings and its brands to develop best-in-class approaches for addressing risks of adverse financial crime impacts throughout our value chain. The right candidate will have substantive regulatory, program/project management, and operational experience in a broad spectrum of regulatory financial crime matters, with primary focus on economic sanctions and anti-money laundering in the EU, UK, and the US.

In this role you will get to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial crime prevention strategies, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and sanctions and export compliance.
- Represent the BHI Financial Crime Risk Management Team at the Financial Crime Risk Management Committee and business governance and oversight forums, serving as steward for the function of combating financial crime.
- Develop, implement, and review a common set of BHI FCRM standards that will be implemented across the BHI Group.
- Design and implement the BHI FCRM Annual Compliance Plan.
- Provide leadership to a global team of compliance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective execution of financial crime prevention initiatives.
- Design and implement second-line assurance processes, issue management practices, and thematic reviews, to monitor, measure, and report against BHI global systemic risk. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime threats to continuously enhance the organization’s compliance framework.
- Support the Head of FCRM in interfacing with regulatory authorities, provide regular reporting to senior management, and serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on financial crime-related matters.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement controls to address vulnerabilities, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent and detect financial crimes.
What you have:
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in financial crime compliance, AML, CTF, sanctions prevention, or related roles within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of leadership with experience in managing teams and driving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to financial crime prevention and compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and information to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders and influence change at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, fostering a culture of compliance and integrity, with a proactive, energetic, and results-focused approach, while upholding high standards of ethics and professionalism.
