The IAM Protect team manages Entra tenants for all Microsoft Cloud. We are looking to hire a Principal Engineering Manager that will join our mission of protecting Microsoft Cloud by building and operating security frameworks that will enforce security policies across thousands of services. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security at Microsoft and leveraging your insights to protect Microsoft services and customers, while guiding and leading a group of skilled security engineers.

Responsibilities
This is a broad cross-team role with high visibility, collaborating with multiple teams across Microsoft. We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineering Manager with a security mindset in distributed systems, identity and access management who can design and deliver a large-scale framework to enforce security policies and build tools to evict attackers. Some of the core responsibilities include:
- Build and run security systems, data platforms that provide visibility into services' security boundaries.
- Collaborate across multiple services, organizations in Microsoft Security, Azure, and M365 to ensure services adhere to known security boundaries with deployed policies and automation.
- Accountable for the lifecycle management of the Entra Applications for Microsoft production tenants. Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of a governance model for Entra applications for Microsoft production tenants.
- Lead the definition of requirements, KPIs, priorities, and planning of engineering deliverables for the team.
Mentor and grow the energetic, diverse, and driven team with a good mix of senior, mid-level, and junior talent.

Qualifications
Minimal requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, Scala, or TypeScript
OR equivalent experience - 4+ years people management experience AND 2+ years of experience in leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience working in cyber security
- Identity and Access Management experience, especially authentication/authorization systems similar to Entra.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
