Job Summary
The Finance Director is responsible for directing and managing all financial aspects of the organization. Time is focused on managing the annual budget, oversight of accounting functions, review of contracts and reimbursements, and ensuring contract compliance and negotiations. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Leadership:
- Leads Bridges to Change departments and is a member of the executive team to develop, implement, direct, and oversee fiscal policies and implement procedures that accomplish Bridges to Change strategic goals.
- Assures Bridges to Change equity lens is used in accomplishing all organizational goals in collaboration with the E&I committee.
- Ensures delivery of quality performance targets for Bridges to Change, effective input and appropriate escalation and resolution of issues.
- Leads innovation, process review, and improvement efforts.
- Serves as a chair for key projects and initiatives.
- Leads effective communications and matrices with Bridges to Change department leaders, with emphasis on effective services and systems, ensuring a collaborative culture.
- Builds and ensures effective relationships across internal teams and external organizations for current or future integration of workplans, resources and outcomes.
- Coaches, motivates, and recognizes staff.
- Creates opportunities for professional development.
- Drives a culture of success in alignment with the organizational mission, vision, and values.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage division budgets including production of systematic reports to detect and respond to financial variances.
- Ensure financial results align with adopted budget and provide snapshot data in relation to operating expenses/revenues.
- Recommends and manages budgets in alignment with short and long-term Bridges to Change plans.
- Collaborates with County on cost reimbursement and other contractual requirements.
- Approves resource allocations within budget, including people, finances, and timelines; makes decisions on exceptions.
- Collaborates with Development Director to help further philanthropic initiatives within the organization; integrates philanthropic priorities into Finance and provides feedback on organizational funding needs.
- Leads the execution of strategic initiatives, plans, and goals in alignment with organizational vision and goals.
- Represents Bridges to Change in external meetings and functions, providing productive leadership presence and effectiveness.
- Advises team(s), including matrixed directors from relevant Bridges to Change departments, and establishes team and management goals related to fiscal policy.
- Performs employment functions in collaboration with Human Resources, including staffing, recruitment, performance management, professional development, and termination.
- Ensures participation in required training initiatives and organizational activities, as well as adherence to external regulations and internal policies.
- Strives to meet work goals that contribute to departmental and organizational goals.
- Adheres to organizational standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the minimum levels required to successfully perform the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities.
- 5-7 years financial management experience in non-profit management
- Master's degree in relevant field, required
- Demonstrated success managing organizational Finance, project management and driving strategic initiatives including fiscal oversight and budgeting experience, required
- Advanced knowledge of clinical workflows and electronic health record systems within behavioral health care, preferred
- Computer literacy; functional ability with Microsoft applications
- If in recovery from substance abuse, 2 years clean/sober with a verifiable program of recovery
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Bridges to Change's auto liability policy requirements
- Experience working with communities of color and knowledge of the current disparities that certain communities of service users may face more broadly in society, preferred
- Demonstrated success at working effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment, with skills in promoting inclusion and cultural responsiveness
- Experience in collaborating with community partners to identify shortcomings in the organization and in building partnerships to improve outcomes
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain high professional standards at all times with clients, staff, and community partners
