POSITION OVERVIEW:
TLC is experiencing growth and is in search of a distinguished and visionary Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to spearhead its HR department, supporting a team of 100 employees. The CHRO will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing a comprehensive HR strategy, focusing on the development of a robust HR infrastructure. This executive will drive initiatives in employee relations, professional growth, and organizational culture, with a strong emphasis on fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Key responsibilities include establishing and refining organizational processes, overseeing wage equity and benefits reviews, and ensuring all practices align with the goal of cultivating a positive and dynamic workplace. This role demands a high level of dedication, strategic insight, and perseverance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Craft and execute HR strategies and policies to streamline and automate processes, driving efficiency and innovation across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, HR subject matter expert, and key member of the ELT.
- Cultivate a vibrant, inclusive culture that enhances employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Oversee the talent acquisition process, collaborating with managers to recruit and hire qualified candidates.
- Design and execute effective onboarding to ensure seamless employee integration.
- Serve as the HR expert, mediating conflicts and resolving grievances while working with legal consultants and leadership on employment-related issues. Ensure compliance with laws and stay updated on HR trends and legal changes.
- Lead benefit renewals, manage 403(b) retirement accounts, and handle related audits.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and salary surveys; recommend salary adjustments. Manage employee leaves, unemployment, and workers' compensation cases.
- Manage performance evaluations and guide managers on reviews, disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations.
- Administer wage status changes, including agreements, promotions, and terminations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee handbook, employee records, and information systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of HR experience supporting an employee population of 50 or more.
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity within an HR Department.
- 10+ years of experience in HR systems or platforms.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to cultivate relationships at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail & Google Calendars.
- Stellar knowledge of HR principles and California legislative regulations.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screen.
- Valid CA driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) – highly preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
A competitive base salary of $125,000-$180,000 DOE, TLC Child and Family Services offers a competitive benefits package including 100% employer-paid, medical, dental, vision life, and AD&D for the employee and a 403(b) plan with employer matching up to 4%, generous time off and so much more!
