Martin Management Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Counsel - Labor and Employment to join our legal team. As an In-House Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on labor and employment matters to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. You will also handle litigation matters and provide counsel on day-to-day employment issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on labor and employment matters, including but not limited to, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Review and draft employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Handle employment-related litigation matters, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, attending court hearings, and representing the company in mediations and arbitrations.
- Conduct internal investigations to address employee complaints and allegations of misconduct.
- Collaborate with HR department to provide training programs on employment law topics and updates.
- Stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance across the organization.
- Provide general legal support to other departments as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in labor and employment law
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations
- Experience handling labor and employment litigation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
