We help Swedish companies enter their product or service into the US market for the first time, understand market dynamics, identify local partners, appreciate the regulatory landscape, and build out their services or product offering. We support several industries spanning across 7 markets from retail, food, automotive, innovative technologies, pharma, luxury goods and more!

What you'll be doing
Day to day
This position is hybrid and based in the Chicago office.
As a Senior Consultant, you will:
- Represent Business Sweden as a trusted advisor, finding solutions to our clients’ most pressing challenges in the US market
- Lead and deliver own projects of small to medium size, that provide support to Swedish companies in their international business development and expansion plans in the US
- Under the Project Managers guidance, oversee and contribute to multiple workstreams and project types, such as market expansion, sales support, stakeholder analysis and/or operational support
- Co-lead and collaborate closely with project managers and the business development team to support in proposal creation for sales dialogues and processes, lead generation, and gain knowledge of pricing guidelines and structures
- With a problem solver mindset, you'll partner with your colleagues and propose solutions to deliver on our client’s most complex business questions
- Engage in client project dialogues such as check-ins and final deliveries, clearly communicating key project insights
- Contribute to trade and invest promotion activities
Support in consulting skills training for junior colleagues
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Represent Business Sweden as a trusted advisor, finding solutions to our clients’ most pressing challenges in the US market
- Manage & deliver consulting projects of all sizes and industries to support Swedish companies in their international business development and expansion plans in the US
- Take on a leadership role in 1-2 specialty areas based on previous expertise, or develop a specialty and become an industry-expert in client dialogues
- Define project scope, direction, timeline, and objectives and monitor deliverables and team responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop project team members to ensure successful project deliveries and team competency development
- Independently drive client dialogues, and take on full sales cycle responsibility including; monitoring leads, developing pipeline, and developing project scope, proposals, and cost
- Research solutions for market expansion, sales support, stakeholder analysis and/or operational support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through consistent communication, understanding their needs, and tailoring solutions accordingly
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
- Collaborate with the business development team to prospect and develop a customer book of business, while shaping differentiated value proposition for our clients
- Collaborate with marketing team by contributing to externally published project deliveries and market insights, and lead trade/invest promotion activities
Skills & Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
Senior Consultant
- 3-4+ years of experience as a management consultant with relevant work experience, especially in sales dialogues and proposal creation
- Bachelors degree in Business, STEM, or similar field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated success in client consulting & project delivery in a deadline driven environment
- Experience working with management consulting or other advisory services in international markets
- A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
Project Manager
- 4-6+ years of experience from management consulting or other similar work experience, especially in sales dialogues and proposal creation
- Bachelors degree in Business, STEM, or similar field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous experience working with management consulting or other advisory services with a focus in business development and managing projects
- Proven experience consulting, project sales, and strong client service business acumen
- Proven track record developing and executing deals with deep customer insight, strong negotiation and closing skills
- Leadership experience from leading teams and an interest in developing and growing talents
- A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
