What You Will Contribute To Altos
Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Manager (Director) will be responsible for advising business stakeholders on ethics and compliance standards and managing key operations to uphold these obligations at Altos Labs (Altos). This individual is energized with the opportunity to grow in and with a dynamic and innovation-centric environment and will have responsibilities across our global organization.
This role will support the Chief Compliance Officer in the design, development, implementation, and management of compliance, privacy, and information governance programs and associated systems and practices. In this role, you will work and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the company to achieve the common goal of a high-integrity organization. This is an onsite role with 5-15% travel required including international travel.
Responsibilities:
- Accomplishing the global and local implementation, and continued enhancements, of the company policies and procedures to ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conducting risk assessments. Collaborating with internal stakeholders as appropriate in risk remediation, mitigation, and prevention practices implementation.
- Overseeing and managing the company's ethics hotline.
- Conducting investigations of alleged violations of the company's ethical standards or non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policy.
- Ensuring that investigations follow the approved process and are lawful, objective, and thorough and that the resulting findings are accurate, clear, and concise.
- Tracking and reporting results of investigations and the corrective actions taken as needed. Support the CCO in the interpretation of findings/trends and carry out corrective action and retraining as needed.
- Conducting applicable monitoring and auditing with a strong understanding of relevant internal controls and risk assessment methodologies and routine reporting of progress.
- Developing and delivering training internally.
- Creating and conducting engaging and meaningful communication materials that meet the internal stakeholders where they are and embed a speak-up culture.
- Coaching and collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop focused and relatable training and communications.
- Ensuring that systems and records are compliant with relevant global and local requirements.
- Providing guidance expertise regarding regulatory, privacy, and compliance issues, including regulations and practices related to global and local GxP requirements, fraud and corruption, transparency, and competition.
- Collaborating with the information security function to ensure alignment between security and compliance (including privacy) programs including policies, practices, and investigations.
- Collaborating with the Data Privacy Officer on assessments, mitigations, remediations, initiatives, standard setting, and training.
- Monitoring the legal, regulatory, and business developments and industry compliance best practices to evolve the compliance and privacy program through ensuring appropriate practices, processes, systems, and tools are in place and maintained to always support the business and anticipate emerging compliance trends.
- Leading specific functional or company initiatives as assigned.
- Acting as an enthusiastic and approachable ambassador for ethics and compliance topics, resources, and special initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of compliance experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
- Committed to delivering high-quality results, overcoming challenges, focusing on what matters, and executing in a dynamic startup environment.
- Displays personal courage while remaining flexible and sensitive to different circumstances to solve problems, coach and learn in each situation, and take decisive action to rectify issues.

Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate is a plus but not required.
- One or more relevant certifications such as Certification of Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), and the like.
The compensation for this role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other business needs.
The salary range for this position is $261,800 - $354,200.
