North America (NA) AI Center within Samsung Research leads at the forefront of innovation in creating intelligent and interactive technologies. North America AI Center takes on grand scientific and engineering challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and actively contributes to the international research community through scientific publications and presentations in major conferences and journals in several research areas, including but not limited to, computer vision, camera and imaging technologies, robotics, multimodal modeling, conversational AI, health, and new emerging areas where AI is applied. The AIC is a key part of Samsung’s global R&D effort and aims to have influence on future Samsung products reaching hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly self-motivated Product Manager who can help us define and build strategic roadmaps and partnerships in cutting-edge AI technologies and innovations. In this role, you will work closely with the SVP of North America AI Center to define and lead the development of research and product roadmaps and plans, while ensuring project timelines are being executed and meeting their goals. We’re looking for someone who has deep expertise and passion in various AI technologies and has a deep curiosity about emerging technologies, human behavior, data, and design aspects. As a product manager, you will be involved in exciting projects with talented people at Samsung.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leaders, researchers, and engineering teams to deliver demonstrable milestones.
- Drive product strategy (define product vision, strategy, roadmap, analytics, competitive analysis, and success metrics; collaborate with internal business and strategy teams to strengthen product position).
- Develop executive-level meeting agendas and presentations, highlighting key strategic topics and succinctly analyzing relevant current events across technology and media.
- Collaborate with peer teams on various initiatives, including strategy creation and operational execution.
- Involve engineers, designers, and others to create a shared vision and clear goals for the product, including well-defined product roadmaps.
- Identify, select, and engage with industry partner companies and organizations to advance Samsung’s AI focused research and product development efforts.
- Manage team projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop comprehensive, executive style, project plans that highlight the project goals, timelines, dependencies, roles and responsibilities, including global level KPI’s and deliverables.
- Create trusting relationships at all levels within the company by promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.
- Organize weekly project progress review meetings and documents.
- Organize regular review meetings with stakeholders and quarterly business review meetings with senior execs.
Experience Requirements:
- Engineering degree in EE, CS or similar or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. MBA preferred.
- 10+ years industry experience of proven experience in building AI products.
- Proven experience in end-to-end product lifecycle (concept through deployment and maintenance) is required.
- Experience working with diverse teams such as research, engineering, and product teams.
- Strategic partnerships and strategy development in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellence at working with cross-functional teams and being an effective written and verbal communicator.
- Experience in project planning, managing, and leading sophisticated technology projects in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Ability to understand business strategy and formulate product strategy to align with it.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills and ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders and deliver quality products/features on time.
- Experience with competitor analysis, user research analysis, and product analytics.
- Experience in building GenAI products is a plus.
Base Pay Range:
$188,400 — $282,450 USD
