The Non-Invasive Cardiovascular RN is responsible for representing Northside Hospital to the cardiac patient in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. Provides nursing care by assessing the patient pre-procedure and assisting the Cardiologist in the various diagnostic cardiac testing. Examples are: Trans-Esophageal Echocardiograms (TEE's), exercise stress testing, nuclear stress testing, stress echoes with or without the use of Definity, Dobutamine stress tests and tilt table tests. Administers conscious sedation and other prescribed medication or pharmacological agents during and post cardiac testing. Assists the Cardiac Rehab Department during their exercise sessions, assessing pre program patients and participates in marketing the ECHN cardiology services.
REQUIRED:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
- Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date into position.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical surgical nursing or related area and one (1) year experience involving the treatment of cardiac or critical care patients.
- Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.
