Your Opportunity:
The Vice President, Global Indirect Sourcing, Freight & Logistics leads the development and execution of a transformational global strategy encompassing all indirect spend categories, international freight, and logistics operations. This critical role oversees the optimization of costs, processes, and supplier relationships across a vast network of [number] plants within diverse international markets. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in indirect procurement, a proven track record of driving cost savings while managing complex supply chains, and the ability to instill a rigorous, data-driven approach to spend management across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision & Leadership:
Design and implement a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for all indirect materials and services, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching business objectives.
Establish a holistic, international logistics and freight strategy, optimizing efficiency and reducing transportation costs across complex delivery networks.
Spearhead the digital transformation of sourcing and logistics processes, leveraging technologies to improve spend visibility, analytics, and supplier management.
Build and lead a high-performance, global team of indirect sourcing, logistics, and freight professionals, creating a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
Supplier Development & Contract Negotiation:
Identify, evaluate, and establish collaborative partnerships with a diversified supplier base across various global regions.
Conduct in-depth market analysis, lead complex contract negotiations, and manage supplier relationships to secure the most favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Develop and manage robust risk mitigation strategies throughout the supply chain, encompassing geographical, regulatory, and financial risks.
Cost Reduction & Process Optimization:
Drive aggressive cost savings initiatives across all indirect spend categories, leveraging global sourcing strategies and economies of scale.
Analyze international freight and logistics processes, implementing streamlined operations to increase efficiency, minimize delays, and address capacity constraints.
Oversee the development and maintenance of robust KPIs and metrics to track cost savings, supplier performance, and logistics effectiveness.
Governance & Control:
Collaborate with finance to establish rigorous spend controls and implement financial safeguards to protect company assets.
Ensure compliance with all applicable international trade regulations, customs requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
Partner with business unit leaders across all operating facilities to understand indirect sourcing needs, providing guidance and ensuring optimal support for their operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a substantial portion in a global leadership role.
Demonstrated success in driving significant cost reductions and process improvements within multinational organizations.
Strong understanding of indirect spend categories such as MRO, IT, facilities, professional services, marketing, and travel.
Deep expertise in international freight forwarding, logistics management, and customs regulations.
Master's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Proven analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and use it to drive strategic decision-making.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
Fluency in multiple languages a strong advantage.
