In this role, you will be entrusted with the critical task of constantly improving our information systems and processes. Reporting to the president, you will oversee the credit union's IT operational and development strategies. Your innovative products will excite customers and enhance our reputation; your work will be instrumental in maintaining our competitive edge while finding the delicate balance between cost reduction, risk management, and growth opportunities. Your influence will extend beyond technology, helping to shape the credit union's culture and vision and fostering relationships with all stakeholders.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Directs the administration of the Information Technology and Digital Transformation departments, including budgeting, performance monitoring, reporting, planning, priority setting, and staff management.
- Directs and monitors all hardware and software conversion, development and enhancement projects, and large-scale organizational initiatives.
- Manage core banking software to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business needs and efficiencies.
- Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization through training and education programs.
- Exercise industry best practices and stay on top of technological advancements.
- Seek new avenues to improve operational effectiveness and drive innovation that shape the future of our organization.
- Forecast resource needs, manage expenditures, and maximize cost-efficiency while considering the needs of core operations and development teams.
- Oversee IT vendor management, creating strategic partnerships with key technology providers to maximize utilization of technology solutions, secure the best possible solutions and pricing, and align the credit union's digital strategic plan deliverables with the core vendor's solutions and research and development road map.
- Serve as a member of the Credit Union's Business Continuity and Technology & Risk Committees, responsible for the initial response and guiding the organizational response during any emergency or disruptive situation.
- Create, implement, and maintain policies, standards, practices, and procedures to ensure system security and compliance with existing policies and procedures, industry standards, and regulations.
- Facilitate effective communication channels within the IT department and other business units, ensuring that IT alignment and collaboration are optimized to support business goals.
- Must be able to protect and retain confidential material on the membership and the organization's practices.
- Maintain knowledge with B.S.A. Compliance training.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Expectations of Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 10+ years of similar or related experience working in technology. Preference will be given to those with experience in financial institution technology groups or Fintech organizations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA/Master’s Degree is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential to the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters, to give or obtain information, build relationships, or solicit cooperation.
Other Skills: Being service-oriented and embodying the organization's core values, being knowledgeable about your job, and continually developing as an IT professional.
Compliance: Employees must uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with B.S.C.U. will consider the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity relevant to the department.
- In addition to any other assigned training courses, online B.S.A. and O.F.A.C. courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and Compliance Department.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, U.S.A. Patriot Act, O.F.A.C., Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.
