The successful candidate will possess strong strategic program management, strategic planning, and communication skills. You will play a crucial role in the execution of complex projects within the health sector, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of client projects on time, within scope, and in compliance with contractual requirements.

Role Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Child Welfare Project Director. This role is pivotal in leading a team of child welfare, adoption, and immigration subject matter experts, researchers, and systems and data analysts to support federal contracts promoting the health and safety of unaccompanied children.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Project Director will manage all staff and operations of large, complex projects, including:
- Providing the overall vision for the contract.
- Providing oversight of contract activities and contract deliverables to ensure high-quality, responsive, and coordinated products and services that exceed client expectations.
- Deliver excellent client service, including attending promptly to requests, providing regular updates and progress reports, providing input on solutions for issues that may arise, and ensuring all work performed is strategic, creative, accurate, and error-free.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning, including anticipating future trends and needs, seeing the big picture, articulating a clear path forward, and creating plans that work.
- Independently and proactively identifying problems, and areas for continuous improvement, and successfully resolving issues or putting new processes in place to make those improvements.
- Engage with firm leadership regarding the implementation and health of projects, including reporting through various internal mechanisms.
- Ensure adherence to usability, accessibility, branding, style guide, and technical standards, as well as federal plain language guidelines.
- Maintain timely and thorough understanding and awareness of key issues relating to the child welfare landscape, including research, program implementation, and partner organizations and ensure transfer of that knowledge to clients and staff.
- Manage day-to-day communications effectively with clients and staff.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Support MSG's other child welfare activities, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in project management with an emphasis on federal child welfare and/or child and family development programs.
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, social work, child/family development or related field.
- Experience working with the Administration for Children and Families Office of Refugee Resettlement a plus.
- Experience with child welfare research and systems, national and state programs supporting unaccompanied children, immigration systems and regulations, foster and adoptive families, and/or family reunification a plus.
- Outstanding oral, writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills with problem-solving, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically to advance client projects and develop strong, trusted relationships with clients.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, and see a project through to completion.
- Ability to travel for work and obtain security clearances, as required.
