The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and tied for No. 1 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report (2023-2024), is seeking a full-time, board certified/eligible Physiatrist who will work with approximately 60 clinical and research faculty to help patients manage their conditions and improve their quality of life.
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, chaired by Dr. Heakyung Kim, provides services at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, and their affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with residents, fellows, and medical students in one of the largest PM&R training programs in the U.S. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Now comprising four schools, UTSW has grown into a thriving academic medical center with a rapidly expanding clinical enterprise dedicated to excellence in care delivery. The institution provides medical care in approximately 80 specialties to more than 117,000 hospitalized patients annually and oversees nearly 360,000 emergency room cases and approximately 3 million outpatient visits a year.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent
- ABPMR Board certified/eligible
- Eligible for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment
Role Responsibilities and Duties:
The ideal candidate will provide high quality, comprehensive clinical care to inpatients and outpatients as assigned. Teaching responsibilities will include medical students, PM&R residents, and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in various multidisciplinary conferences. Research will vary depending on the candidate's interest.
