Our team at Momentum Spine and Joint is looking to hire a Full-Time Radiology Technologist to join our team in North Dallas, TX! This candidate will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. Working closely with radiologists and physicians, this candidate will also operate X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment under the direction of the Medical Director.
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience starting at $30/HR
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 06:30 AM to 03:30 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients
- Select proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis
- Positions patient and set up and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician
- Takes preventative steps to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and fellow staff
- Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure
- Regulates the length and intensity of film exposure
- Positions and restrains patients; and takes X-rays of patients' chest, limbs, or other body parts as requested by the physicians
- Implements infection control procedures for the work area
- Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed
- Distributes films to appropriate medical staff and transfer images to electronic medical records (EMR)
- Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and facility policy
- Performs radiographic procedures for patients in surgery
- Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed equipment
- Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards
- Maintains radiographic supplies, film, and equipment
- Assures that all materials and other required equipment, are present and in working order
- Follows all safety rules on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace
- Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Adheres to the company standards of business conduct
- Performs other duties as assigned as per discretion of medical provider and facility
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies
- Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
