The Director of Accounting, Supply Chain will perform and lead multiple financial, analytical, and control tasks to support centralized cost accounting processes as a member of the Finance Team. This role will partner closely with teams across the organization including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Internal Controls, and FP&A to ensure consistent and standardized cost accounting processes across the network.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
- Ensure controls and compliance adherence throughout the department. Model and actively champion the importance of organizational policies and procedures.
- Comply with internal control and SOX standards and facilitate SOX audits.
- Encourage teamwork and collaborative attitudes.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for costing and inventory modules, to ensure accuracy of transactions, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations, processes, and procedures documentation, as applicable.
- Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs.
- Partner with Finance team to create accurate and timely inventory and costing reports to support continuous improvement initiatives in the operations team.
- Serve as an expert on cost accounting and inventory accounting issues and related standard processes and procedures.
- Ensures that inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet including the establishment of required reserves.
- Lead the team on new processes and system implementations, acting as a subject matter expert in reporting and inventory and control.
- Interact with internal and external auditors, providing various analysis and audit schedules to ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Proactively find solutions and create best practices for the cost accounting function.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports, perform research on cost accounting questions, and contribute to special projects, as needed.
What skills and experience will you need?
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
- 10+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting roles, specifically with Operations (Cost Accounting).
- Experience with Oracle software.
- Experience in a public company and adhering to SOX standards.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with solid judgment and discretion.
- Ability to effectively manage employees.
- Must have good time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using technology to improve processes.
- Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization.
- Exceptional customer focus and service orientation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Working knowledge of Excel.
- Travel up to 25%.
What qualifications are preferred?
The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.
Education/Certifications:
- CPA preferred, but not required.

The anticipated salary for an employee who is located in California for this position is $173,970.00 to $210,733.00, plus bonus, and benefits. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. The Company is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect the pay scale for an employee who works in other states or locations.
