Description
The Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a management consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an experienced federal project director to support contracts for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE). MSG provides its clients with management consulting services in the areas of training and technical assistance, research and evaluation, marketing and communications, information technology, and program management.
This position is to support the firm's Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) service line. Candidates will join a dynamic team of consultants working together to deliver best-in-class solutions to OCTAE while expanding our portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience providing project management and coordination, a working knowledge of and interest in adult education and/or career and technical education (CTE), and an understanding of the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and/or The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V).

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- The Project Director will manage all staff and operations of large, complex technical assistance projects, including:
- Providing the overall vision for the contract.
- Serving as the federal client liaison, including leading timely, effective communications, and reporting with OCTAE.
- Providing oversight of TTA activities and contract deliverables to ensure high-quality, responsive, and coordinated products and services that exceed client expectations.
- Managing the contract team, including subcontractors and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Organizing and participating as an expert in meetings, conferences, webinars, and/or other convenings with grantees and other TTA recipients.
- Independently and proactively identifying problems, and areas for continuous improvement, and successfully resolving issues or putting new processes in place to make those improvements.
- Engaging with firm leadership regarding the implementation and health of projects, including reporting through various internal mechanisms.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing projects
- Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and delivering high-quality, high-impact TTA
- Strong understanding of adult education and/or CTE local programs and state administration of local programs
- Knowledgeable about the projects and activities of OCTAE
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
- Highly proficient in MS Office suite and willing to learn new technologies.
- Experience in developing proposals, either for federal, state, or foundation.
