Duke Orthopaedics is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE academic Adult Reconstruction Surgeon to join our community-based, hybrid-academic practice in Raleigh, NC. Duke Health Raleigh is located in the fastest growing area of North Carolina, offering the opportunity to rapidly build a robust hand practice and be part of a leading orthopaedic academic department.
Opportunity:
- Since 1998, Duke Raleigh Hospital has been an important part of Duke Health. Duke Raleigh Hospital is recognized as the community leader for compassionate care with centers of clinical excellence in oncology, orthopaedics, neurosciences, and cardiovascular services.
- 90% Clinical and 10% Academic role, the hired surgeon will have an opportunity to practice at several outpatient clinic location options available in the Wake County area.
- The clinical practice will be focused in Wake County, with in-patient surgical cases primarily performed at Duke Raleigh Hospital, minutes from downtown Raleigh.
- Support for research is available throughout the broad range of the academic disciplines at Duke University to meet the goals and interests of this new faculty member.
- Candidates with research aspirations can receive a university appointment and support across the broad range of research themes in the department. Specific interest in clinical outcomes research in hip and knee arthroplasty is a plus.
- Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and training.
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction (primary/revision hip and knee arthroplasty), and also have a strong interest in research and teaching
- A commitment to excellent patient care, as well as teaching, scholarship, research, and leadership on local, national, and international levels.
- Board Certified or Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.
