We have a full-time physician opportunity in our Direct Care Clinic - a same-day/next-day access clinic for patients with acute non-life threatening needs. This clinic is located inside of our Whittier Clinic in Minneapolis and open Monday - Friday days.
Direct Care providers have a range of responsibilities, including:
- Providing immediate medical care for patients with non-life-threatening conditions (and referring/transferring appropriately)
- Assessing/diagnosing/treating a wide variety of acute illnesses and injuries, such as infections, fractures, and minor burns
- Including conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing minor procedures like suturing or splinting
- Making appropriate determinations of patients requiring transfer to a higher level of acute care and stabilizing such patients while awaiting transfer
- Managing patient flow efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation, and providing guidance on follow-up care or referrals to specialists when necessary
- Following-up test results in timely manner, addressing healthcare maintenance goals whenever possible
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility)
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine
- If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship or training program
- Basic Life Support Certification or completion
Necessary Skills:
- Strong clinical competence
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Excellent communication and collaboration with colleagues
- Offering support when needed
