Part Time One Year Maternity Cover Post - 27 hours per week
£92,677 to £104,468 per annum pro rata
Are you a GP who is interested in people and could work flexibly within a multi-professional team, offering consultations to suit patient needs alongside service delivery?
Are you comfortable providing telephone triage, remote video consults and/or a more traditional face to face service when required?
Are you a creative thinker and have a genuine interest in working closely with a practice team to support innovation and evolution of practice systems and processes?
This might be the opportunity for you.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our GP team in one of the most beautiful and popular locations in the Highlands of Scotland. The practice covers the South Skye area and the Small Isles of Eigg, Muck, Rum and Canna. The Isle of Skye offers a vast range of outdoor sporting activities for the outdoor enthusiast. This post is 27 hours per week, and we are open to discussions if this post interests you.
Although the practice is situated in a rural location, South Skye has unparalleled support from Broadford Hospital and our Integrated Community Nursing Team. The Practice has six part-time GPs and a fantastic wider team including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nursing, Health Care Assistants, Pharmacist and Pharmacotherapy Team support, First Contact Physiotherapist, and a very experienced Admin Team.
We also work very closely with our on-site Community Nursing Team. We are ideally seeking GPs with experience in remote and rural practice; including skills such as pre-hospital emergency care (BASICS), ALS, PLS, and palliative care.
There is no Out of Hours commitment with this post. The post is based at Broadford Medical Practice, which covers Sleat, Small Isles as well as Carbost, so offers a multitude of opportunities, the post will cover all locations on a fair basis. The Sleat practice has its own dispensary.
The post is for 1 year to cover maternity leave, but we are also looking at our establishment, so permanent opportunities may arise.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
