Essential Duties- Manages and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: recruits, interviews, selects, hires, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, counsels, disciplines, and rewards. Establishes and monitors staff safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborates with leaders throughout the institution to understand technological needs and solutions and to ensure that operational leaders have the technology necessary to effectively achieve the business goals.
- Understands current and emerging technologies and serves as a resource and a change agent to effectively incorporate new and existing technologies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of NJH operations and growth initiatives.
- Ensures the cost-effective delivery of IT services throughout the organization. Develops and manages IT budgets. Oversees technology acquisition efforts, leads IT sourcing strategies and manages IT vendor relationships. Develops business case justifications for technological purchases.
- Manages the affiliation with partners as it relates to technology services. Develops strong relationships with counterparts within partner organizations. Identifies and resolves issues that arise in collaboration with partners as it relates to IT. Manages IT agreements between entities and holds partners accountable to service standards.
- Oversees the use, implementation, functionality, and effective use of applications including the electronic medical record, the enterprise management systems, clinical support systems, and other applications that support the organization.
- Oversees the organization’s IT security architecture, disaster recovery and IT policies and procedures ensuring that the organization, the IT systems, and the data is secure.
- Oversees software development, fostering creativity while understanding customer needs and ensuring that software is efficiently developed and implemented consistent with customer expectations and is effective, secure and scalable.
- Develops and oversees the IT communication and training strategies. Ensures that users are knowledgeable and have the tools to effectively utilize available technology.

Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, required.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare or academic medicine as a senior IT leader, preferably as a CTO, CSO or CIO required. Prior experience leading software development teams is preferred. Prior experience with EPIC is also preferred.

Salary Range: $250,000 - $371,000
