At TurboTax, we are currently looking for a creative and results-driven leader to lead select brand & creative work. In this role, you will work directly with our marketing strategy partners and our creative agencies (both internal and external) to develop creative strategies and execution across channels including TV/video assets, digital, audio, OOH, local activations, and more in service of the team’s advertising strategy and TurboTax business targets. This role will report to the Group Marketing Manager of Brand Creative on the TurboTax marketing team.
As the Principal Marketing Manager, Brand Creative, you will be responsible for managing the creative strategy and direction for selected campaigns, collaborating with agencies and partners along with our internal media and partnerships team. You will be responsible for gathering data and insights to create best-in-class creative briefs and evaluate creative strategy and execution against our brand foundation. Your work will be critical in delivering results-driven creative and a cohesive brand voice across all channels and the delivery of our consideration, awareness, acquisition, and retention goals. You will play a key role in developing innovative creative strategies and partnering closely with our media and activation teams to bring holistic strategies to market. Your work will deliver on our deep passion for customer obsession, innovation, and bringing financial progress to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the creative strategy for our pre-season campaigns and select new channel work, including briefing and creation of all assets that live across brand media platforms including TV, OTT/OLV, digital, social, and OOH/local.
- Work with Analytics and Insights partners to clearly understand in-market performance, analyze trends, business results and use this data to iterate and implement changes to improve results.
- Collaborate with both internal creative agency partners and external teams to deliver cohesive creative assets that live across channels.
- Ensure collaboration and connection between brand strategy and platform execution.
- Deliver creative that drives performance in market and creates a continuous test and learn mindset to drive results that meet business objectives.
- Own the day-to-day relationship with team members at our lead creative agency, including oversight of their Scope of Work for your initiatives and annual budget and funding.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing channels, strategy, insights, product, and analytics to deliver best-in-class creative and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in brand and digital creative, bringing new ideas and approaches to the team that will help deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth.
Qualifications
- Brand marketing expertise - you are a rockstar in the brand marketing craft and have experience leading and executing large-scale marketing campaigns for national brands. This may have been in-house at a brand or in an agency capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategy and flawless execution of large-scale brand marketing campaigns, including managing a high-output creative production process from ideation to production to testing and deployment.
- Strong prioritization and organization skills necessary to drive and lead cross-functional initiatives and to be effective in a highly matrixed, distributed, and fast-moving environment.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field. MBA is a plus. Equivalent Experience will be considered.
- 7+ years of experience in brand creative, agency account management, or strategy roles, with a focus on strategy and management.
- Proven experience managing agencies, vendors, and cross-functional teams with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with data and insights to optimize campaigns and deliver effective and measurable results.
- Deep customer obsession with a passion for understanding our consumers and how we better enrich their lives through our work.
- Excellent overall communication skills with a background in data-driven assessment and cross-organizational storytelling.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
