We are seeking an Internal Tax Manager or Senior Internal Tax Manager withideally entertainment business management experience to join our team of dedicated professionals.
Location:This position can be based out of White Plains (NY) or Manhattan (NY) on a hybrid basis.
Overview of Role:The Internal Tax Manager is responsible for consulting with Firm partners, managers and staff on client tax issues and will also handle/assist with income tax audits.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Staff, Managers and Managing Directors by fielding questions, conducting research and acting as subject matter expert
- Assist in handling tax notices and audits with Staff and Managers
- Monitor new tax developments and provide guidance about them to the Firm.
- Limited review and possible preparation of moderate to complex, multi-state tax returns (individual, S corporation, C corporation, partnership, estate, and trusts)
- Assist in the planning/executing/administration of Firm trainings to educate Staff, Managers and Managing Directors on tax issues related to the industry to meet CPE requirements
- Other projects and duties as assigned
A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 6+ years of well-rounded income tax experience required, ideally for clients in the entertainment space
- Bachelor's degree and CPA license is required; MST or JD is strongly preferred
- Go Systems experience is a plus
- Experience with HNW individuals and their multistate S corporations and partnerships
- Ability to use research software (i.e., RIA, CCH, etc.) to conduct tax research and tax planning with minimal supervision, and to prepare clear and concise answers to questions asked
- Prior experience handling day-to-day tax questions, monitoring tax law changes, trends and guidance, and sending tax updates to partners, managers, staff and/or clients
- Prior experience handling federal and state tax correspondence; experience conducting federal and state tax audits is a plus
- Background familiarity with the entertainment industry (namely music, film, TV, sports and fashion) is favored
- Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.)
- Sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to follow through
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to professionalism, discretion and accuracy
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook)

This is an exempt position. Employee compensation is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, employee education/training/credentials, employee work experience, work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal peer equity, and market considerations. The expected base compensation hiring range for these positions is as follows:
- Manager: $132,500to $160,000 per year
