A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, including an LLM (preferred), and will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, client relations skills, and the capability to manage multiple concurrent matters. This role involves providing expert tax advice on a variety of complex transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on tax implications and strategies for mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and international transactions.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis to support tax planning and compliance.
- Draft and review a range of tax-related legal documents, including opinions, memoranda, and transactional agreements.
- Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to develop effective tax strategies and solutions.
- Manage several ongoing tax matters simultaneously, ensuring compliance with deadlines and client expectations.
- Represent clients in negotiations with tax authorities and other relevant entities.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice.
Requirements:
- JD degree from a nationally recognized law school.
- 3-5 years of experience in tax law, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and international transactions.
- High level of motivation, initiative, and the ability to handle multiple concurrent matters.
- Strong client relations skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
