Kwik Lok names Gary Tong as Vice President of Engineering and Innovation

USA – Packaging manufacturer, Kwik Lok Corporation has appointed Gary Tong as the company’s Vice President of Engineering and Innovation.
The Washingtonbased packaging manufacturer noted the new role was created to leadits engineers and foster a culture of increased innovation, continuing thecompany’s legacy of “creating clever customer solutions.”
Gary is a seasoned mechanical engineer and engineering manager having worked for a nearly fourteen-year tenure with Boeing’s Commercial AirplaneDivision.
His projects at Boeing included global supplier development, newaircraft certification, new regulation and policy proposal along with aircraftinterior product development, design and engineering process improvement.
Commenting on Gary appointment, Kwik Lok CEO, Don Carrell said, “Kwik Lok is the long-establishedglobal leader in packaging. By adding innovation to this VP role, we will bewell-positioned to continue our focus on innovation and growth.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from theUniversity of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science in MechanicalEngineering from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Gary is a certified by Stanford University in Advanced Project Management and recently completed studies for a Master of Science in Technology Management from Columbia University.
The company recently appointed Motohiro Kawai as new President for Japanese operations, after the former announced plans to retire.
The firm which manufactures plastic bag closures for the packaging industry, has also appointed Xiuming Bai as Regional Sales Director to lead the company sales team in China.

The new closing line features the world’s first sustainable closure, Eco-Lok, and the next generation in bag closing machines, the 910A as well as a new tamper-evident solution that uses laser stitch technology to keep bakery items safe.
