As a Sr Director of Sales for the Curtiss-Wright Valve Division, you will be primarily responsible for driving sales growth in North America and globally, through managing, developing, and maintaining a global sales & distribution network, along with a team of regional sales managers. Main responsibilities also include providing monthly, quarterly, and annual order intake forecasts, developing plans to meet sales targets, developing and cultivating relationships with clients, and developing a high-performing sales team. Other responsibilities include:
- Establish near and long-term strategy for Curtiss-Wright Valve Division sales teams, in alignment with corporate goals.
- Work with leadership to establish and approve annual sales budget; develop individual annual sales compensation plans and manage team activities to budget.
- Manage the Valve Division sales forecast and pipeline, regularly report to leadership on bookings forecast, bookings outlook, and key opportunity updates.
- Manage the sales team to established annual Booking Targets and Strategic Objectives.
- Regularly review sales progress, manage the team toward goals and adjust strategy as needed to ensure target achievement.
- Establish opportunity pursuit strategies with the sales team for all major opportunities, including pricing strategy.
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering leadership to review bookings forecast and production plans to ensure timely build and delivery on orders.
- Work with engineering teams to review product development roadmaps and align priorities with customer requirements and emerging opportunities.
- Review and approve all tradeshow and conference participation in accordance with established trade show budget, ensuring trade show staffing, messaging, and demonstrations are aligned with objectives.
- Regularly travel to strategic customer and partner sites to enhance our position, close sales, and develop key executive relationships.
- Work closely with the marketing team to review and approve specific marketing materials and campaigns.
Your Expertise:
- 15+ years of senior global sales leadership experience in a multinational organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (or equivalent), MBA preferred.
- Proven success growing sales organizations, developing multi-year strategies, and delivering on key results.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a global sales team and drive growth through established sales channels.
- Strong financial acumen, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of sales/orders growth in competitive environments.
- Strong background in the process valve industry, catering to EPC contractors, OEMs, and End-Users.
- Ability to travel globally without restrictions up to 50%.
- Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ambitious and persuasive achiever with a casual and direct communication style.
- Self-driven and growth-minded sales leader.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage tactical and strategic responsibilities in a “roll up the sleeves” hands-on culture focused on delivering results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in implementing metrics and measurements to evaluate results and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership skills to manage a geographically dispersed team of professionals.
- Customer-focused (internal and external) and results-driven.
- Skilled at both direct and indirect sales strategies.
