Purpose of Role
The Vice President of America’s Marketing at Under Armour will report to the President of America’s. The candidate will be an experienced marketer skilled in creating and executing integrated marketing plans to meet brand and commercial objectives. They will articulate our brand and products to consumers through various commercial channels and oversee a $200M+ marketing budget, working with the President of America’s, Global CMO, and America’s Leadership team. The VP will lead the UA brand in America’s marketplace, ensuring effective and efficient business operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing DTC Marketing, Wholesale Marketing, Integrated Brand Planning, Brand Media and Acquisitions, Marketing Analytics, and dotted-line reporting of Americas Sports Marketing, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the CMO.
Your Impact
Strategic Marketing Direction
- Influence and prioritize brand category strategies, translating them into comprehensive, integrated plans executed by channel.
- Develop and execute a long-range vision and actionable annual operating plan for the America’s Region.
- Ensure synchronization across all touchpoints to build brand equity, enhance consumer experience, and drive conversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PR, Media, Social, Sports Marketing, Events, and channel marketing.
Go To Market Strategies
- Develop and own America’s seasonal strategy, focusing on investment and storytelling.
- Align with Merchandising and Planning on product focus, positioning, distribution, and strategy.
- Drive and influence Brand Marketing integrated plans to meet seasonal business needs.
- Set and manage budgets for all touchpoints and define cross-functional 360 brand engagement strategies.
Marketing Analytics
- Develop metrics to evaluate effectiveness in reaching customers across all channels.
- Utilize consumer research and business analysis to assess ROI and drive a culture of agility, action, and accountability.
Growth Enablement
- Work with America’s Leadership Team and CMO to support commercial and product strategies.
- Influence category marketing strategies and deliver marketing playbooks to commercial teams.
- Set marketing priorities and allocate resources to achieve annual business goals.
- Present business direction, strategies, and performance to the America’s Region, CMO Organization, and Executive Leadership Team.
Sports Marketing
- Partner with the SVP Sports Marketing to develop strategies that meet brand and commercial needs.
- Ensure sports marketing assets are integrated into plans to ensure a positive ROI.
- Identify prioritization and focus areas to align with America’s long-range plan.
- Develop a channel marketing strategy that enables UA to deliver a clear and cohesive cross-channel experience, both online and offline.
- Own Commercial Marketing campaigns from strategy to execution.
- Develop channel strategies in concert with Category/ Product Marketing.
Qualifications
- 15-20+ years of marketing experience, with the last 10 years in leadership positions, ideally in the sports industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field required; advanced degree in marketing or business administration preferred.
- Experience leading large-scale business transformation efforts.
- Strong knowledge of retail selling propositions and global markets.
- Proven track record of driving growth through brand storytelling in matrixed organizations.
- Experience in category-led structures and building women’s competencies, particularly in sports.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence laterally.
- Experience leading large centralized and remote teams in a corporate environment.
Workplace Location
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters office in Baltimore, MD.
Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
Travel: Up to 15%.
