Senior Product Manager, Yahoo Search

We’re looking for a Product Manager for Search at Yahoo. We are looking for folks that are interested in pushing beyond the status quo to change the way folks interact and use search.
As a Product Manager for Search, you will help develop our search strategy and roadmap and lead its execution. The ideal candidate will leverage strong organizational skills and deep subject matter expertise to partner with design, science, engineering, and other key cross-functional teams. You will determine what we prioritize for our customers in our search experiences and bring the vision to life. You will also lead the effort to discover and amplify content from across the vast Yahoo ecosystem to create new and innovative search experiences across surfaces and for our Search App. The role is also responsible for identifying and documenting product and business requirements and taking them from concept to production, while working with a broad set of stakeholders that include marketing, sales, legal, editorial, design, UXR, and other teams.

Responsibilities:
- Growing user acquisition and engagement through defining, managing, and implementing a product strategy & roadmap across engineering, design, media, marketing, legal, editorial, and platform teams.
- Pitch, develop, launch, measure and scale innovative new features and products that help achieve defined product and company goals.
- Leverage search strengths to power and discover meaningful experiences in the ecosystem and beyond.
- Strategize and collaborate with leaders from the broader Consumer Product group on overarching strategy and execution that drive meaningful progress towards goals.
- Define target users and develop an intimate understanding of their needs and goals.
- Enable and lead the team to find optimal design, implementation and features to develop and iterate on.
- Partner with the User Research team to continually vet product concepts, designs and discover new product/market opportunities.
- Run agile ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospective, with the engineering and design teams.
- Communicate effectively cross functionally and among a wide team of senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Interface with executives on product, revenue, team, investment, and strategy approvals & updates.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about encouraging the flow of ideas from all levels of the team.
- Driving product thought leadership and mentor junior PMs on the team.
Experience:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7 years of experience with the following:
- History of success in the full lifecycle of product management.
- Building search products or domain expertise in search or data oriented products.
- Driving product vision; balancing priorities against budget and timelines; a sense of urgency in driving execution; and a passion for developing products from an early stage.
- Experience in data analysis, addressing and solving problems, and strategic business development.
- Experience working in a matrixed team structure and influencing across product areas and teams.
- Familiarity with digital media with a focus on video, news and entertainment products.
- Monetization strategies for digital content, including advertising, sponsorships, subscriptions and commerce.
- Expertise in native ads and affiliate marketing and their use on properties.
- Experience applying user research and understanding techniques like Design Sprints, User Focus groups, Diary studies and user voice analysis.
- Knowledge of user market research, price analysis and go-to-market strategies.
- Performance tracking, revenue, and A/B testing.
- Roadmapping tools via specific software like Roadmunk, Trello, or Excel.
- Project management methodologies including Agile, Lean, or Scrum.
- Project delivery software and ticketing systems including JIRA.
- Be an expert at rapid prototyping with Balsamiq, Invision, Zeplin and Axure.
- Understanding of technical concepts like REST APIs.
- Experience working on and managing distributed web application architecture systems.

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
