Mid-Level Application Software Developer - PA
The Marlin Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Application Software Developer within a commutable distance from Mechanicsburg, PA. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database-driven applications to support the company's business operations. This position supports our Navy customer and offers exceptional upside potential.
Established in 2002, The Marlin Alliance is seeking to hire highly skilled individuals to support mission critical projects within the Navy. We are looking for motivated individuals to lead and support digital transformation, data science and analytics, and automation projects for a variety of Navy clients. Individuals must be able to function in a fast-paced work environment and adapt quickly to rapidly changing requirements and technologies. Using your comprehensive knowledge of various technologies, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to support Navy mission owners in their digital transformation journey.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable software applications using various programming languages and frameworks.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best coding practices and industry standards.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application quality and performance.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Four-year or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related information technology (IT) role, with a focus on application development.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as C++, Java/J2EE, Visual Basic, .NET, HTML/XML, PowerBuilder, and/or Delphi.
- Solid understanding of database design and development, including SQL and database management systems.
- Experience with agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with front-end development technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with mobile application development.
