As an
injury claims adjuster,you’ll play a critical role managing complex attorney represented bodily injury (BI) claims for customers with small businesses or commercial product policies. An ideal candidate will have experience working independently and directly with attorneys to negotiate and settle claims. You’ll have the support of a collaborative team that will help you grow your claims career. Read on to learn more about some of the day-to-day responsibilities.
This is a remote position with occasional travel to an office for a meeting and/or training. If you are interested, you’ll also have the option to work a hybrid or full-time office schedule depending on your location.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Determines coverage and liability
- Negotiate with claimants or their attorneys
- Settle claims and set reserves
- Estimates cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents
- Analyze and interpret medical reports, follow-up with no-fault parties, and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution
- Interview, collect and document information from various people such as claimants, agents/brokers, attorneys, and police
Must-have Qualifications
- Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling OR
- One year in claims handling and a bachelor’s degree OR
- Three years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling and an associate degree
Preferred Skills
- Understanding coverage and liability
- Attorney repped bodily injury claims
Compensation
- $64,700 - $78,000/year
- Gainshare bonus up to 16% of eligible earnings based on company performance
