Job Description
The client legal services attorney represents insured and the Company in the investigation and defense of no-fault claims and lawsuits. The attorney prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, examinations under oath, and depositions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct depositions examinations under oath and prepares summary documents.
- Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses.
- Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.).
- Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approves initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy.
- Investigate medical providers billing the Company and pursue litigation as appropriate.
- Draft motions.
- Try and/or arbitrate cases including by preparing motions, and motions in limine.
- Conduct settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).
- Prepare and conduct court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.).
Education
• Juris Doctor (Required) and licensed with the NY State Bar and in good standing.
Experience
• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred).

This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
