Located on the buzziest corner of San Marcos’ iconic downtown square, Bazaar is the most anticipated new opening in recent years. The most elevated, high-volume bar program in the market with bold flavors in a unique, Mediterranean-inspired food offering.
A Nova Hospitality concept, setting a new standard for the Downtown San Marcos food and beverage scene. A modern bar with Moroccan-inspired finishes; interiors led by Rituals, the designers behind TenTen, Devil May Care, The Well, Mayfair and The Marc. Bold, modern Mediterranean flavors throughout simple-yet-cravable menus. A tiny but mighty food offering, to complement this beverage-first concept. A flexible, indoor-outdoor venue, with full audio-visual capabilities including a DJ booth, nightlife lighting, a dozen televisions, and two full bars. Leading the Team
- Be passionate about food & beverage, an eye for detail and a collaborative team player.
- Demonstrate care, listening, clear direction and collaboration every day with the team.
- Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and energize a diverse team.
- Is actively involved in the selection, development/performance and separation of team members.
- Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and all aspects of performance management of team.
- Partners with BOH management to ensure operational and service expectations are defined and delivered.
- Champion and adhere to all Company standards and policies.
- Conducts meaningful daily preshifts for all FOH team members.
- Maintains team morale, addressing any and all issues with care and efficiency.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of high volume restaurant/bar/lounge or nightclub management experience.
- Strong understanding and background in cocktail/beverage development.
- Proven knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant Food & Beverage outlet is required.
- Extensive understanding of guest service and importance of the guest experience.
- Proven ability to accurately calculate P&L and implement spending changes is required.
- Must have flexibility and be adaptable to all types of changes.
- Must be polished, professional, friendly, dynamic and able to multitask.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor.
- Must be able to create fun in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all types of business contacts.
- A valid TABC Certification/Food Handler Card is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
Main Job Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the venue team to ensure quality controls, inventory, revenue, & labor targets.
- Management of all Beverage operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and counseling, auditing/inspecting work to ensure standards are met, promoting teamwork and inclusiveness, scheduling, and conducting performance management with the team.
- Ensure beverage program is executed & maintained at all times.
- Create schedules with focus on labor costs.
- Conduct and or attend pre-shift meetings.
- Open & close outlets, complete accompanying tasks efficiently & accurately.
- Handle service opportunities in a personal and timely manner.
- Abide by and uphold company policies and standards as well as state sanitations/health regulations.
- Ensure and maintain safe and secure working conditions/environment.
