As a Marketing Manager / Senior Marketing Manager at Clark, you will make an essential and significant contribution to developing innovative proposals, presentations, and other materials that help win new projects for Clark. You will have the opportunity to drive strategic conversations with business leadership on win strategy and serve as the primary catalyst for organizing and leading the development of tailored proposal responses and presentations in support of new work. Successful candidates will demonstrate a collaborative and team-oriented mindset and a passion for and dedication to getting the job done. This position is based in our San Diego office.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior marketing leadership for pursuits, partnering with pursuit teams to drive the execution of pursuit strategy.
- Develop winning RFQ and RFP responses, proactively contributing at all stages of proposal development including writing, editing, and visual communication.
- Organize and lead proposal teams in coordination with our operational leaders and the company’s marketing team.
- Build collaborative relationships with project staff to facilitate team synergy, creativity, and effectiveness.
- Provide mentorship and strategic advice to develop Pursuit Champions and Marketing team members.
- Guide and assist technical staff, as necessary, on the development/improvement of their technical narratives.
- Develop and edit presentation material for proposal team interviews with clients. Initiate presentation preparation and critique public speaking skills.
- Drive strategic conversations with leadership regarding new markets, building types, and services in collaboration with Business Development.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Communications, English, Business, Marketing, or other relevant focus of study in writing, communication, and critical analysis.
- 7+ years of relevant and successful marketing and proposal management experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and/or construction (AEC) industry.
- Strong grasp of business literacy in the AEC industry, specifically construction delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to generate original written content in a clear and compelling manner.
- Proven experience managing large-scale and complicated proposal efforts.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with an attention to detail.
- A good eye for visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills to facilitate appealing and effective communication.
- Creativity and resourcefulness, with the ability to execute creative ideas effectively.
- Confident personality with the ability to think strategically and help teams develop sound marketing, pursuit, and proposal strategies.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with a “hands-on” and team-oriented attitude.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and challenges; offer new ideas.
- Commitment to mentorship, growth, and development of marketing team members; support staff with training and guidance.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite required.

Clark offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefit package that includes health benefits (medical and dental plans), paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday), financial benefits (retirement plan with both match and annual company contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability, and commuter benefits). Base salaries will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role the base salary range is $80 - $150,000.
