Position Overview
Salesforce's Global Field Marketing (GFM) organization is a fast-evolving team at the forefront of this mission. We currently have an opening for a Marketing Strategy & Performance Senior Lead to join GFM's Strategy & Planning team. This team drives the strategic direction and owns the planning process for the Global Field Marketing team, with a deep connection to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create clarity and understanding of performance of marketing activities and how they are impacting the targeted outcomes.
- Articulate and document marketing strategy - full funnel, integrated marketing view.
- Orchestrate the design and implementation of the Global Field Marketing planning and goal setting process design, documentation, and execution.
- Analyze data-driven inputs and come up with strategic insights - with data ranging from budgets, performance data, company and business results, market and competitive intelligence.
- Understand Global Field Marketing team - roles, responsibilities, and owners - make recommendations on the optimal ways to plan and complete work.
- Set goals and ensure tracking and operational rigor is in place to measure impact.
- Narrative writing (in the style of the Amazon 6-pager), strategy slides, and executive summaries in Slack.
- Translate marketing plan to non-marketing (business) audiences.
- Project management of key portions of the planning process.
- Coordinate across multiple marketing partners on the timely delivery of information.
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).
- 6+ years of professional experience, ideally in marketing strategy/business operations roles.
- Proven track record of operating with a high level of autonomy and managing ambiguity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience presenting to executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of marketing strategy or planning experience, preferably in a technology company.
- Consulting experience is a plus.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Ability to translate complex information into easily consumable insights.
- Ability to influence and impact without authority and solve difficult problems.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-group collaboration skills.
- Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment.
- Experience with Tableau, SQL.
- Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand.
- High proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Slides (or their Microsoft equivalents).
