Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to manage a team of Design Engineers within our Interior Engineering department. You will have accountability over a staff of Design Engineers and their deliverables to their supported programs. You will also support department activities to improve efficiency, ensure predictable execution, and keep talent staff engaged.
The position works Onsite at our Everett, WA facility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct management of engineering team including hiring, career development and mentoring.
- Oversee and lead design activities for support of existing product as well as development of product modifications for commercial aircraft interior monuments.
- Accountable for meeting program requirements including cost and schedule.
- Interface with program management and project engineers to assure technical goals are achieved.
- Manage project performance KPIs.
- Oversight of all procedures and processes being adhered to by the team.
- Implement best practices and improve efficiency.
- Responsible for capturing lessons learned and implementing corrective actions.
- Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
- Minimum 3 years experience in managing an engineering team and/or mechanical leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years managing project schedules, KPIs, and/or project resource allocation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience with Aircraft interior design, retrofit or integration.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and champions MSBE best practice.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
