About The Position
Cumulus Media is hiring a full-time VP, Digital Sales Strategy. This is a remote position. The VP, Digital Sales Strategy will be responsible for developing and executing digital sales initiatives to accelerate digital revenue growth across Cumulus Media sales channels. Primary responsibilities include facilitating digital sales growth initiatives in local markets, ongoing sales channel education, and managing digital vendors to ensure effective go-to-market strategies. The VP, Digital Sales Strategy reports directly to the SVP, Digital.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a background in growing digital revenue across local media sales channels. You will be a digital native with a deep understanding of both the digital advertising and local marketing landscape. You will leverage your expertise to ensure a best-in-class go-to-market strategy across our digital advertising and marketing services portfolio. You will be equally comfortable developing sales strategies, executing the details across multiple competing projects, and presenting digital solutions to clients and internal customers. You are a team player who understands the importance of strong collaboration but can operate autonomously to achieve goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage digital sales initiatives to accelerate digital revenue growth across Cumulus Media sales channels.
- Own the go-to-market strategy across the Cumulus Media digital solution portfolio to ensure market competitiveness and establish market leadership.
- Maintain strong relationships with local sales teams to provide support, identify opportunities, and address challenges related to digital sales initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external digital fulfillment partners to ensure alignment and successful execution of digital sales initiatives.
- Regularly report on digital sales initiative progress and assigned metrics.
- Assess fulfillment-partner performance and make recommendations regarding solutions, product development, go-to-market strategies, and sales process.
- Serve as point of contact for escalation issues between sales channels and fulfillment teams. Address and resolve ad hoc issues as needed.
- Collaborate with fulfillment partners to create effective go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
- Provide ongoing sales channel training via monthly meetings, company communication channels, and ad hoc events.
- Educate sales teams on digital sales best practices, digital products, partner updates, sales programs, and priority digital sales initiatives.
- Monitor sales channel performance and provide coaching and support as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Cumulus sales teams to identify strategic account opportunities.
- Conduct quarterly and ad-hoc sales channel business reviews to identify growth opportunities, address challenges, and ensure alignment with digital objectives.
- Develop and execute customer-facing and internal marketing activities to promote digital sales initiatives.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of channel management experience with digital advertising, advertising technology, or digital marketing services - broadcasting industry exposure a plus.
- Experience selling and managing digital marketing solutions for local and regional advertisers.
- Disciplined to follow defined processes, yet creative to recommend/build new, scalable approaches.
- Ability to develop relationships and engage at all levels (Sales to C-suite).
- Fluency in digital media platforms and deep understanding of digital media performance metrics and ability to interpret campaign data.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, balance multiple priorities, and achieve deadlines.
- Engaging personality, polished verbal and written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be willing to travel as needed for market visits and events.
- Maintain high levels of communication both internally with sales channels and corporate stakeholders, as well as externally with vendor partners.
- Provide a deep understanding of markets, customers, and competitors to target needs and drive sales.
- Provide sales teams the training, planning tools, and support to reach established revenue goals.
- Conduct market research on trends and competitors, as well as regular customer analysis.
- Experience with leading digital platforms such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads, DSPs, etc.
- Experience developing effective digital marketing strategies to accomplish advertiser goals.
- Solid understanding of the entire business-to-business sales process.
- Excellent presentation skills are required, as are strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
