Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Director, Finance will serve as the key growth optimization and analysis leader for the Company. They will lead short and long-range planning processes and generate financial insights and analyses to optimize business decisions and drive long-term shareholder value. My Client is seeking a finance leader who will drive planning and reporting on the measurements of their strategic objectives. This individual will have sound general leadership and business acumen, technical and analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to think critically as well as build capabilities for organizations.
The Director, Finance will be a key leader responsible for supporting the Company’s growth to $1 billion and beyond. They will provide key insights to improve operational efficiency, business leader decision-making, and ongoing strategy related to our business model. They will need to develop a command of the business and drive continuous improvement in the company’s structure. It is essential this role provides recommendations for new FP&A roles and organizational structure as we grow and evaluate our increasing business support needs.
Essential Responsibilities / Duties
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for the enterprise
- Set financial targets and ensure key business leaders have the right analysis and insights; provide relevant financial information to executive leadership
- Clearly understand how strategic goals and program decisions impact the company portfolio and financial results to optimize execution of strategic and financial goals
- Provide regular direction, delegation and communication to team members; ensure deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner
- Actively coach team members professional growth opportunities
- Partner with the Assistant Controller and team on monthly closes
- Guide team members through existing processes and implementation of new initiatives related to internal controls, process improvement, driving for efficiencies in the billing processes, reporting opportunities, and data analysis
- Lead change; drive process improvements and regularly communicate these improvements and potential risks and/or impacts to senior management
- Regularly evaluate team support to the enterprise and provide recommendations on new roles, support needs, and overall how we support the business
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business and 10+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience as a leader of people with a successful track record of developing strong teams
- Strategic thinker who can support the organization in short and long-range planning
- Effective communicator through a variety of channels including verbal, email, data, and presentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement
Preferred Experience
- MBA
- Experience with technology or business services organizations or organizations with recurring revenue models.
- Experience building capabilities or other processes from the ground up.
