Position: Staff Engineer Software Development (Wilmington, Massachusetts)
Duties:
- Lead integration of engineering product lifecycle management platform with the enterprise ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with the corporate IT organization and stakeholders within and outside of electrical engineering.
- Effect key architectural choices and be ultimately responsible for a robust, scalable and user-friendly product.
- Partner with the corporate IT organization in influencing their strategic decisions by bringing key requirement and intelligence related to engineering product lifecycle challenges.
- Work with a global community of engineers and IT experts to understand product lifecycle use cases and use the knowledge to guide architecture direction.
- Participate in new product definition process and champion best-in-class software quality processes and development strategy.
- Research emerging web technologies to improve current applications, architectures and processes.
- Create program specifications for software programs by studying functional and non-functional requirements and the application architecture document and convert the assigned functionalities into pseudo code/algorithms/test cases.
- Establish web application performance and efficiency guidelines and procedures, and coach junior engineers with adopting and adhering to same guidelines.
- Translate requirements/vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards.
- Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminate duplication, leverage product and technology reuse.
- Support process improvements which guide the development, sustain & support activities.
- Identify performance parameters and assess application performance, and deploy web services and web application firewalls.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer or related occupation designing and developing scalable web applications.
Specific skills/other requirements:
Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):
- Demonstrated Experience (DE) designing and developing new robust, complex, scalable web applications such as Product Life Environment (PLE), UPP (Universal Project Portal), ADventure to improve reliability, promote reusability, and increase customer self-service capabilities.
- DE architecting, designing and developing a suite of solutions for improving Business Case analysis and ROI discovery process using SharePoint, Jira and Confluence.
- DE tracking various phases of solution life cycle including requirement gathering, status checking and deliverable timelines using Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, WCF, REST API, ADO.NET and SQL Server.
- DE leveraging QlikView, Power BI, JavaScript, Angular, NodeJS, HTML5.0, jQuery and Kendo MVVM to provide project management overview such as milestones and deadlines.
- DE tracking new products and improving governance through the entire life cycle across business, development, and management teams using CI/CD Process and Azure Service Bus.
