We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Manager in our Dayton office. Senior Managers help to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements to help our clients minimize tax liabilities. Working as the right hand to our directors, this position has the potential to offer a fast-track to ownership at Brady Ware.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and monitors preparation and review of complex partnerships, S- Corp. and individual tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations.
- Exhibits a high-level understanding of technical requirements, principles and procedures; with the ability to apply relevant tax law to clients and circumstances.
- Provides tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to clients.
- Reviews and advises on technical research memorandums.
- Develops an intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities.
- Advises clients on the tax efficiencies of various structures including the use of domestic and foreign entities.
- Works closely with Directors to deliver innovative tax planning strategies.
- Leads client meetings, engaging in professional and effective communication.
- Oversees projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budget.
- Efficiently delegates responsibility providing proper instructions, monitoring and coaching.
- Actively participates in training and developmental opportunities to help build the firm’s technical expertise, both as an attendee and as a facilitator.
- Develops business by expanding existing relationships with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and/or professional organizations.
Requirements:
- Must be CPA certified and have an active CPA license.
- BA in Accounting required, MA in Taxation preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience of federal tax consulting and/or compliance in public accounting, including prior experience operating successfully as a manager/senior manager for at least 2-4 years at a local, regional, or national CPA firm.
- Experience in Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, and/or Partnership returns.
- Experience in multistate tax returns.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Federal and Income Tax laws and principles, individual and business taxation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working proficiency in CCH Axcess, CCH Fixed Assets, CaseWare Working Papers, and SurePrep.
- ASC 740 experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- International tax exposure would be a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Passion to develop a responsible, knowledgeable, and trained staff.
- Possess the ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities.
