Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific has awardedDragados JVa $2.8 billion task order – under an $8 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multiple-award construction contract awarded in November 2021 to Dragados JV to replace a dry dock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility atJoint Base Pearl Harbor.
SUMMARY
Dragados is seeking a Concrete Superintendent for our NVFAC Dry dock project in Hawaii, the ideal candidates will have large infrastructure experience, preffirbley with large concrete pours similar to Dams or other structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervise labor crews in the concrete operations
- Confer with and direct supervisory personnel in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
- Responsible for organizing manpower
- Ensure labor crews meet timely production
- Coordinate with various vendors to schedule deliveries
- Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
- Schedule maintenance activities
- Diagnose and repair equipment involved in the concrete
- Confer with supervisory engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
- Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used & costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
- Ability to communicate with technical staff acknowledging technical requirements and technical instructions
- Cost control
- Adhere and perform Health and Safety rules/regulations
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associates’ degree preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in a Foreman/Superintendent position
- Strong background in Concrete Formwork and Placement
- Experience with transportation projects and bridge work
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
- Factory experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Salary Range : $150,000-$250,000
