About the Opportunity
The Project Engineer Manager (PrEM) - Certification & Configuration Life of Type Extension (LOTE) is accountable to the Head of Whole of the Boat (WoB) Integration & Performance for execution of the Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Certification Plan, the provision of Technical Authority to the program and management of the LOTE configuration and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the LOTE assurance activities to demonstrate that the design is fully integrated and balanced, meets requirements and complies with the certification basis.
- Proactively monitor and support design development through attendance at design reviews and maturity gates.
- Maintain an oversight of the LOTE Support System program, assuring its alignment with the Mission System design development; consider the integration of the reliability & maintainability requirements and training support as part of the design process.
- Manage the conduct of the LOTE Mandated System Reviews and action closure.
- Develop and maintain the LOTE Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) & LOTE Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
- Define and maintain the LOTE Functional, Allocated and Product Baselines.
- Manage engineering change to approved design baselines ensuring impacts across the Collins-Class Submarine (CCSM) Enterprise are captured and managed.
- Chair the LOTE Engineering Change Board (ECB) and the Platform Systems Integration Working Group (PSIWG).
- Oversee the development of the LOTE Configuration Change Proposals (CCPs) in SIMS (Ships Information Management System) to ensure consistency across the design teams.
- Support the LOTE Program Working groups to facilitate CCSM Enterprise alignment and input into the LOTE design.
- Manage the Certification Plan for LOTE.
- Lead the conduct of LOTE Internal Audits.
About you
- Bachelor level qualifications in a technical discipline relevant to the management of complex technical projects or relevant equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience with submarine and/or submarine system’s design and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience of the design lifecycle and through life support of a complex military project in a senior engineering role.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5+ years) in Engineering Project Management on medium to large, multi-dimensional projects.
- Experience in building and leading multi-discipline technical teams, including supporting the growth of technical team members through evaluating performance and developing growth plans.
- Good knowledge of the product lifecycle, configuration management, product safety, seaworthiness and engineering governance and assurance.
- Experience in customer relations and stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
