Director, Regional Sales
Purpose of role: The Director, Regional Sales will manage the sales activities of a team of field sales representatives within a region. With the Director, Regional Sales’s support, these representatives will call on current and potential Phonak customers within a specific territory or region to sell the full Phonak product portfolio, working directly with audiologists, physicians, large retail chains, and hospitals. This position will be responsible for directing, coaching, and managing the performance of the staff to drive continued growth as they provide training solutions, prospect new accounts, and grow sales within existing customer accounts.
This position will be based out of your home office.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Direct, coach and manage performance of the team to comply with company and territory/regional goals and drive success
- Coach sales team to develop synchronized account strategies and designs
- Interfaces with the Clinical Training staff to maximize the field team’s competency and confidence in selling Phonak technology and customer’s preference for selling it
- Recruit, hire, train and develop staff as required
- Monitor and measure ongoing effectiveness of team and redirect efforts when needed
- Achieve sales quota as assigned in region territories
- Implement tracking systems to measure outcomes and progress; lead forecasting efforts
- Design, implement and execute compensation programs and promotions for department
- Maintain strong relationships and rapport with customers and key opinion leaders within region
- Enforce company code of conduct and policies/procedures as well as duties and responsibilities within department
- Work in cooperation with other departments to attain company sales goals
- Work as liaison between the field team and headquarters staff to ensure cohesion and timely resolution of any critical issues
- Travel with team members regularly to mentor and evaluate individual performance
- Provide ongoing departmental updates to VP of Commercial Sales
- Represent Phonak at national and regional meetings as required
- Hold team accountable with internal policies and procedures for documenting customer visits in CRM system on a daily basis
- Maintain expense reporting weekly for self and team and manage territory within OPEX guidelines
- Other duties as assigned by Sr. Dir. Commercial Sales
- Travel requirement up to 70% including overnight
Education and Skillset:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s of Audiology or Doctorate Audiology Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in field sales management and supervision
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, selling technical products in the medical device industry
- Proven track record of leading successful teams
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
